ARA-290

ARA-290

Minimum order 2 vials or 2 pens — delivery in 2 weeks
An erythropoietin derivative that doesn't raise hemoglobin. In two phase II studies it didn't just improve pain — nerve fibers actually increased.

Category IV — Repair & Tissue 🧮 Reconstitution calculator €52 – €72 from €41.60 to €57.60

ARA-290 is derived from the structure of erythropoietin, but keeps only one of its two parts.

EPO has a dual action: it makes red blood cells and it protects tissue. ARA-290 targets only the innate repair receptor — the protective action, without stimulating red cell production 1. It also directly inhibits the TRPV1 channel, the receptor capsaicin activates 2.

In a randomized, double-blind study in patients with small fiber neuropathy, the symptom score improved by −11.5 vs −2.9 for placebo over four weeks 3.

The data are limited in size — 22 people per study — and concern a specific population, patients with sarcoidosis. Sports injuries have not been studied.

Research-use product. Lyophilized; after reconstitution it needs the fridge, protection from light, and rolling instead of shaking.

ARA-290 is the part of erythropoietin that nature designed for repair, not for blood — and that makes it something rare.

It targets its own dedicated tissue-repair receptor, and at the same time calms the TRPV1 channel — the one that “burns” when irritated 1.

In the first randomized human study, the symptom score improved by −11.5 vs −2.9 for placebo within four weeks 2. And in later studies, something even more beautiful: nerve fibers grew back in the cornea 3.

It's still early data — small studies, a specific patient population — but it's randomized and double-blind in humans, which is rare in this category.

Research-use product. Fridge after reconstitution, away from light, roll rather than shake.

It comes from erythropoietin. And it doesn't raise hemoglobin.

That's the first thing you need to know, because it's also the most misunderstood. EPO has two separate jobs: it makes red blood cells, and it protects tissue. ARA-290 is designed to keep only the second — it targets the innate repair receptor without stimulating red cell production 2.

And it has human data, not just mice. In a randomized, double-blind study in patients with sarcoidosis and small fiber neuropathy, the symptom score improved by −11.5 vs −2.9 for placebo over four weeks, along with the pain and physical functioning dimensions of the SF-36 1.

The finding that stands out: the two phase II studies didn't just measure that people hurt less. They measured an increase in corneal nerve fibers and improved sensory thresholds 2. In other words, it didn't mask the symptom — something grew back.

And a second, independent mechanism: it directly inhibits the TRPV1 channel — the same receptor capsaicin activates, the one that “burns” 3. It hits both the inflammation and the sensation itself.

The honest part: the studies are small — 22 people in one of them — and they concern neuropathy in sarcoidosis, not sports injury. But they are randomized, double-blind, in humans, which few peptides on this page can say.
