DSIP

Minimum order 2 vials or 2 pens — delivery in 2 weeks
Delta sleep-inducing peptide. The name promises sleep. A 2006 review calls it an “unresolved riddle” — the gene, the protein and the receptor were never found.

Category VII — Mind & Sleep 🧮 Reconstitution calculator €37 – €73 from €29.60 to €58.40

DSIP was isolated in 1977 from rabbit blood and named after what it seemed to do — induce slow-wave sleep.

Its mechanism, though, was never fully confirmed. A review in the Journal of Neurochemistry, thirty years later, recorded that its gene was never found, the protein was never isolated from tissue, and its receptor was never identified 1.

What did show an effect were synthetic analogues of DSIP — not the molecule itself — which induced slow-wave sleep in rabbits and rats 1.

The same review says it plainly: the hypothesis that DSIP is a sleep factor remains poorly supported 1. It's not a proven mechanism — it's been an open question for decades.

We keep it in the catalog because people ask for it and it's a real peptide with proper synthesis and analysis — we'd rather you bought it informed. We don't present it as a solution for your sleep. Research product.

Straight talk first: DSIP has no proven mechanism. Let's get that clear before we go any further.

It was isolated in 1977 from rabbit blood and named after what it seemed to do — slow-wave sleep.

A review in the Journal of Neurochemistry, decades later, never found its gene, the protein in tissue, or its receptor 1. What did show something were synthetic analogues, not the molecule itself 1.

The literature itself says it: the sleep-factor hypothesis is poorly supported 1. If you're after something evidence-based for sleep, this isn't the route.

We carry it because people ask for it and it's a proper peptide with verified synthesis — not because we promise a result. Get informed first, buy second.

The most honest text on this page.

DSIP was isolated in 1977 from rabbit blood and named after what it seemed to do: induce slow-wave sleep — delta sleep-inducing peptide. The name stuck.

And then, almost nothing. Thirty years later, a review in the Journal of Neurochemistry titled “DSIP: a still unresolved riddle” recorded the following: the DSIP gene was never found, the protein was never isolated from tissue, and its receptor was never identified 1.

And the conclusion, in their own words: “the hypothesis that DSIP is a sleep factor is extremely poorly supported and still weak” 1.

What did show something. Some synthetic analogues of DSIP — not DSIP itself — induced slow-wave sleep in rabbits and rats 1. So not even the molecule you're buying is the one that produced the positive result.

So why is it here? Because people ask for it, because it's a real peptide with proper synthesis and analysis, and because we'd rather you got it from someone who tells you all of the above than from someone who'll tell you it “regulates sleep.” We don't sell it as a sleep aid. If you're looking for something for your sleep, this isn't the evidence-based route — and we'd rather you knew that before you paid.

One single source, and it's critical. That's not an omission — that's the state of the literature.
