TIRZEPATIDE

Tirzepatide — Mounjaro

−20.9% body weight in 72 weeks, in a study of 2,539 people. A dual GLP-1 and GIP agonist: two switches instead of one — which is why the numbers are in a different league from monotherapy.

Category I — Weight Loss 🧮 Reconstitution calculator €44 – €220 from €44 to €176

More fat lost than on semaglutide — without eating less.

This is the finding nobody advertises, and it's the most interesting one in the whole category. In a head-to-head comparison using DXA, tirzepatide cut more fat mass than semaglutide and placebo. Yet both suppressed appetite equally — the drop in calorie intake did not differ between them 1.

So the extra loss isn't explained by eating less. The authors say it themselves: what the molecule does to energy expenditure and substrate use needs to be investigated 1. Something is happening beyond the stomach.

Now the question you actually have: will I lose muscle? Incretin drugs cost lean mass — about 10%, or 6 kg, “comparable to a decade or more of aging”. This applies to the whole category, not just here 2.

The countermeasure is written in the same review: resistance training over 10 weeks → about 3 kg of lean mass and +25% strength. The authors explicitly recommend it alongside treatment, and note that preserving lean mass may slow weight regain afterwards 2.

And so you know where it stands: in the only head-to-head obesity trial — 751 people, 72 weeks — −20.2% vs −13.7% for semaglutide, and waist circumference −18.4 cm vs −13.0 3.

And three numbers the scale doesn't show. Blood sugar: head-to-head against semaglutide, 1,879 people, HbA1c −2.30% vs −1.86% 6. Heart: 731 people with heart failure and obesity — cardiovascular death or worsening 9.9% vs 15.3% 4. Kidneys: versus insulin, the annual eGFR decline was −1.4 instead of −3.6, and kidney events were 42% fewer 5.

Four formats. Choose by what suits you, not by what sounds better.

Syringes: four single-dose, pre-filled at your dose — no measuring, no drawing up, no chance of getting lost in the zeros. One month. Pen: the same four doses in one device, with the extra charge.

Watch the pen number. “1 × 20 mg” isn't 20 mg in one go — it's 4 × 5 mg, a month in one pen. Always four times the dose, because it carries all four weeks.

Vial: plain powder, the cheapest per mg. You do the work — reconstitution, calculation, your own syringes. Reconstituted vial: the same, dissolved in 2 mL bacteriostatic water with 4 syringes included, +10 €.

The trade-off: the solution has a clock, the powder doesn't. Once reconstituted it needs the fridge and won't wait months. If you're starting now, it's convenient; if you're stocking up, get the powder.

Four formats, and the difference is how much of the work you do. Syringes: none. Pen: none, and everything in one device. Reconstituted vial: arrives ready, with syringes. Lyophilized powder: you prepare it, and it's the most stable over time. Choose by what you'll actually do — not by what sounds more serious.

Imagine the body you've always wanted, built on real science. Tirzepatide is one of the most talked-about peptides of its generation — and it deserves it.

Its secret is a beautiful double move: it talks to two receptors at once, GLP-1 and GIP. One gently curbs appetite, the other activates fat tissue and the feeling of fullness.

And the result isn't an empty promise: in the SURMOUNT-1 study, with 2,539 people, weight loss reached −20.9% in 72 weeks 1. One kilo in every five — like rewriting the rules of your body.

And the most beautiful part is that the story continues: in SURMOUNT-4, those who stayed on treatment lost another 5.5% 2. It's not a momentary glow — it's a journey that lasts as long as you keep it going.

Honesty has its place in a beautiful story too: experience varies from person to person, and nothing here is a magic wand.

We do it right from the very first moment: strictly for research use, with aseptic handling and a proper cold chain for every vial — because the beauty of a result always starts with the quality behind it.

−20.9%. In 72 weeks. One kilo in every five. And that number isn't marketing — it's from SURMOUNT-1 in the New England Journal of Medicine: 2,539 people, randomized, placebo-controlled 1.

Why does it work where others didn't? Because it acts on two receptors, not one. GLP-1 cuts your appetite and slows how fast your stomach empties. On top of that comes GIP, which works on fat tissue and on the satiety signal. Two switches instead of one — and it shows in the numbers.

The most useful finding isn't the 20.9%. It's SURMOUNT-4: those who kept going lost another 5.5%. Those who stopped and switched to placebo regained 14% 2. In other words, this isn't a course with an expiry date. As long as you keep it going, it keeps working.

The same molecule is also sold under a brand name. The difference is the box.

The formats, and what changes with each one.

Syringes. Four single-dose syringes — one month, one a week. Each one pre-filled with the dose you chose. No measuring, no drawing up, no calculating: open one and you're done. The price you see is the price.

Pen. The same four doses in a single device, with the extra charge shown next to it. And this number needs attention, because it throws people: “1 × 20 mg pen” does not mean a 20 mg dose. It means four doses of 5 mg — the whole month in one pen. The pen always holds four times your dose, because it carries all four.

Vial. The powder, lyophilized. These aren't doses — it's a quantity, and you split it yourself. It needs reconstitution, your own syringes, and knowing what you're doing. It's the cheapest route per milligram, and the most demanding.

Reconstituted vial. The same vial, already dissolved in 2 mL bacteriostatic water, with four syringes included, +10 €. We do it ourselves, using aseptic technique.

And the trade-off, because there is one: once it's dissolved, the stability clock starts and doesn't stop. Lyophilized powder waits; the solution doesn't — it needs the fridge, darkness, and use within a reasonable window. You buy yourself time by giving up shelf life. If that suits you, it's worth it; if the product is going to sit, get the powder.

Beyond the scale, three numbers. Blood sugar: head-to-head against semaglutide, 1,879 people, HbA1c −2.30% vs −1.86% 5. Heart: 731 people with heart failure and obesity — cardiovascular death or worsening 9.9% vs 15.3% 3. Kidneys: versus insulin, the annual eGFR decline was −1.4 instead of −3.6, and kidney events were 42% fewer 4.

Four formats, and the difference is how hands-on you want to be. The syringes need nothing: open and you're done. The pen holds all four in one device. The reconstituted vial arrives ready, with the syringes included. Lyophilized powder is the most stable over time — but you prepare it yourself. Choose based on your routine, not on price: a ten-euro saving isn't worth a vial that just sits there.
