Bacteriostatic water is water for injection with 0.9% benzyl alcohol added as a preservative.

The alcohol doesn't sterilize the contents — it stops microorganisms from multiplying. That lets you open the same vial again, unlike plain water for injection, which is single-use.

There's no clinical number to quote here — it's a solvent, not an active molecule, and its value is practical, not pharmacological.

What we don't know precisely is the exact shelf life after opening for every peptide combination — general recommendations talk about a few weeks in the fridge, not indefinitely.
